On the heels of the new season of Showtime hit drama “Weeds,” supply of the sticky icky took a hit in South Carolina in the past week. In Richland County, sheriff’s deputies arrested two men and seized about $1 million in product. Further away in Chester County, authorities discovered nine marijuana fields and picked up three suspects believed to be involved in the operation.

The raid in Northeast Richland seems to have been precipitated by a long enough investigation, as narcotics officers observed two men loading large amounts of pot into two cars. The gentlemen were then pulled over with a combined 100 pounds of weed and $6,400 of the other type of long green. In addition to marijuana, another $112,300 in cash, three Lexuses and a BMW were taken from the scene.

In the other event, the Chester County Sheriff’s Office received a tip about marijuana fields and discovered about 11,000 plants, estimated to have a value of $22 million.
