Yes, there was a time when we were wedded to the IBM clone. It was circa 1987 to 2004. We talked endless shit about Macs, and how DOS-based machines were better. Then there was the endless series of Windows. When XP came out, that seemed to be it. No reason to change to Mac — Microsoft had finally figured it out.
Ah, the ignorance of youth.
Naturally, Microsoft hadn’t figured it out. XP gradually went to shit like every Windows operating system before it. Then we got a G4 desktop machine from our parents and never went back. O, Mac, you’re the sexiest of beasts. Of course, there’s an entire subculture of people in love with their Macs and Apple-based products. And like any subculture worth its salt, it has a documentary devoted to it.
